The 195 Sport was Ferrar's short-lived replacement for their enormously successful 166 Mille Miglia. In reality, however, only one scratch built 195 Sport was ever constructed although at least four 166 Mille Miglia's subsequently had their engines upgraded to this specification by the factory. Retaining the same 2341cc displacement as the 195 Inter, Sport's featured an increase in compression (from 7.5:1 to 8.5:1) and instead of a single carburettor, ran three Weber 32 DCF downdraughts. Output rose by 30bhp, 195 Sport engines producing around 160bhp at 6500rpm, enough to top 130mph down the famous Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans. |
| The only scracth built 195 Sport, chassis 0060 M, received a body in ultra light aluminium by Touring of Milan, its Berlinetta shell having been totally in keeping with the firms previous efforts thanks to a familiar fastback cabin, curvaceous wings and that distinctive grille. The interior was stripped of all but the most necessary equipment for long distance racing and featured minimal soundproofing, all glass save for the split windscreen getting replaced with lightweight perspex. At least four additional vehicles that had originally been completed by the factory to 166 Mille Miglia specification were officially upgraded. The chassis numbers of these five vehicles, their original configurations and associated historical highlights are listed below. However, the four upgraded 195 Sport's are also contained in the chassis listing for 166 Mille Miglia's.
