www.QV500.com - Ferrari 250 GT Boano Part 3:
Concurrently Produced 250 GT to Special Order Part II

As with previous 250 GT's, a number of chassis's were constructed with bespoke bodywork and interiors during the Ellena's production from mid 1957 to '58. The first was chassis 0725 GT, this car receiving a unique and quite stunningly beautiful body by Pinin Farina. One of the prettiest cars of the decade, it was based upon the design of chassis 0719 SA, a Series II 410 Superamerica with special bodywork commissioned by one of Ferrari's most favoured clients, Jan de Vroom.

0725 GT itself was also built for a very special client, Prince Bernhard of Holland, who apparently loved the cowled in headlights, fastback bodywork and rakish lines. Meanwhile, the second 250 GT Coupe Speciale to be constructed by Pinin Farina during the Ellena period was fundamentally different and executed superbly on chassis 0751 GT.

At the request of royalty once again, this time Princess Lilianne de Rethy of Belgium, her custom design took the silhouette of a later PF Notchback and combined it with the more elaborate detailing of a Superamerica. The final two vehicles are a little mysterious though, presenting themselves as correct 250 GT's with Pinin Farina-style coachwork although both are supposed to have actually been fabricated by Pinin Farina long after production of this model had been switched to Grugliasco. The chassis numbers of these and the two previously discussed Coupe Speciale's are listed below:
