For 1993, Ferrari introduced the 348 Challenge Trophy for owners wanting to compete with their cars in regional championships. Mildly uprated over standard 348's, the changes were primarily focused around increasing safety and reducing weight. By the time 355 Challenge cars arrived for 1995, the outgoing spec included Kevlar racing seats with six-point harnesses, a roll cage, a Challenge steering wheel and exhaust, fire extinguisher, drilled pedals, battery cut-off switches, all-round brake ducting and plastic parking light covers. Front and rear tow hooks, solid suspension bushings and rear camber forks were other features of these interesting cars. |
