Ferrari's Dino 246 was further enhanced with the arrival of Series II / Tipo M versions phased in during the summer of 1970 from chassis 1118. For these cars, the Cromodora knock-off wheels of 206 and Series I / Tipo L 246's were replaced with newly designed five-bolt items featuring distinctive Dino wheel centres. Also, Ate disc brakes were fitted in favour of the Girling items used previously while, by the time Series II production got underway, Ferrari's transition to steel bodywork was complete. Production continued until July of 1971, by which time 507 examples had been built, 62 of which were completed in right-hand drive. |
