In addition to the seven Michelotto-built GT's, at least nine other F40's can rightfully be regarded as unoffical Competizione's. These were modified to various states of tune for their owners to use in the Italian and Japanese GT Championship's that took place between 1992 and '95. Perhaps the most well known was chassis 80780, Team Taisan's All-Japan GT series contender. This car won the 1994 Mine 300km race and was joined later that year by a genuine GT, 80742.
