The only one-off show car to have been based on an Espada came some time after the model had been introduced. Displayed at the Turin Salon in 1978, this was the last year of production for the stock version. Completed to a design by Frua on chassis 8224, a Series III car, the Faena featured a stretched frame and four door Giardinetta design. It was met with a less than enthusiastic reception though due to the overtly fussy lines, particularly around the rear three quarter area. It was sold to Switzerland shortly afterwards and has rarely been seen since. |
